    • Taught about chick embryogenesis as a research model

    • Constructed active learning assessments to engage students

Lecturer: Molecular and Cellular Aspect of Developmental Biology (GBS 712), UAB                             

  • This course is an advanced course PhD students in the GBS program can choose to take.

  • Primary Responsibilities:

    •  Taught about paraxial mesoderm development

    • Developed teaching materials to aid in student learning (paper discussion, quiz)

  • This course is an undergraduate course at the University of GA that I gave a guest lecture on my phd thesis project virtually on Zoom.

  • This course is the first of three core courses 1sy year Graduate Biomedical Sciences PhD students are required to take.

  • Primary Responsibilities:

    • Facilitate classroom discussions about quizzes and homework assignments

Student Lecturer: Advanced Mammalian Organ and Tissue Histology Course (GRD 718), UAB                           

  • This course was an advanced course I took as part of my thesis work that had a teaching component as a requirement.

  • Primary Responsibilities:

    • Gave a one-hour lecture about the tissues of the musculoskeletal system

    • Led the class through understanding histology images of the tissues

  • The course is an introduction to biostatics at the graduate level

    • Taught students how to use SPSS to conduct various statistical tests

  • Course master: Dr. Kellie Carter

  • Primary Responsibilities:

    • Taught the topic What Types of Feedback Enhance Student Learning?

    • Gained teaching experience leading a classroom through course material

    • Created learning activities to supplement the lecture material and to keep students engaged

Graduate Biomedical Sciences (GBS) Foundation Course Tutor, UAB

  • The GBS courses consist of Genetics, Biochemistry and Cell Biology and are a requirement for the Ph.D. program, but tutoring is optional for the students

  • Two separate group sessions (6 and 3 students)

  • 0 credit hours

  • Primary responsibilities:

    • Review all lecture material presented in class

    • Supplement lecture material with outside sources to help to prepare for exam

    • Prepare practice exam questions for reviewing exams
